The House of Hope currently cares for more than 84 children who have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS Pandemic in Kenya. Our support provides, housing, food, water, medicine, healthcare, education, clothing and love for these wonderful children.
To simply label the House of Hope as a place for children to live would be short-sighted. It is so much more! House of Hope it truly a family. The love and support along with the value taught and modeled to the children is a beautiful demonstration of how ordinary people can make a difference. |
In addition to providing financial support for the 84 children at House of Hope, Starfish has been able to purchase 21 acres of land, develop the land with farming and livestock, put in a water well, build a school/church, a boy’s and girl's dorm, and implement a Montessori school program for the children.
We have developed a strong bond of friendship and trust with the House of Hope, sharing in both the joys they have experienced and the burdens they have carried. House of Hope has been able to rescue more and more orphaned children, most of whom were in life and death situations. Today, they have 84 children between the ages of 2 and 14. To see the transformation in them is truly amazing. With vigilant medical care, nursing them back to health during the critical first days of their rescue, love, and good nutrition, every child rescued has survived, and after a time begins to flourish. The only financial support that House of Hope receives is from Starfish Kenya.
